Ismail Azzam

 Ismail Azam was born in 1962 and holds a bachelor's degree from the Academy of Arts in Baghdad, Iraq.

In 1998, he began his professional career as an art lecturer at the Teacher's Institute in Mosul, Iraq, then moved to Amman, Jordan, to work as the director of the Ras Al-Ain Art Gallery in 1993.

Ismail moved to Doha in 1996 with his family to work as a painter at the Museum of Islamic Art, the Arab Museum of Modern Art, and the National Council for Culture, and in 2005 at Qatar Museums.

Since 2009 until today, Azam has held the position of Project Director of the Diwan Amiri Museum.

The artist participated in several group exhibitions in Iraq between 1984 and 1986, and several exhibitions in Amman, Jordan between 1989 and 1995. He was present at all the annual exhibitions of the Qatari Fine Arts Association.
